Following their successful digital re-release of my critically-acclaimed 2009 “Edge Of The Dark” CD, Cherry Red Records asked if there were “any more unreleased gems” hidden away in the vault?Their wish being my command, I did some research and am delighted to confirm we now have “Deep In The Dark – Unreleased Rarities 1971-1991”, a sequel to EOTD that mines yet more archive treasures from those “lost” years.
“Deep In The Dark” is a twenty-track compilation consisting of mostly full-band arrangements. For this, my seventeenth release though Cherry Red, we’re featuring not only my ever-present 1968 Harmony 12-string guitar but acoustic and electric guitars, bass, synths, piano, percussion and a host of other instruments.
Musically, there’s the folk influence (of course!) but also rock, blues, baroque; even a little pop creeps in…
I think people familiar with my work are going to find quite a few surprises here!

As with all my Cherry Red releases, “Deep In The Dark – Unreleased Rarities 1971-1991” is available for streaming, and for purchase from download sites around the world (including of course iTunes and the Amazons).
It’s been a labour of love pulling this album together, and I really hope you enjoy it!

To accompany the new release, Cherry Red have issued the festive “Joseph & Amanda” as the official video to complement “Deep In The Dark”.
I mean, doesn’t everybody love a Christmas song?
