“Fly The Bluebird” from Cherry Red Records is my first release of brand new recordings since “The Way It Was” back in 2011.Again, I’ve kept the format simple – just me and the big Harmony twelve-string guitar. I may be the conduit, but the songs are what this album’s all about.
When The Sound Of Salvation brought out their beautifully packaged “Twelve Strings to the Beau” in 2013, aside from the excellent reviews I received a fair bit of feedback on the vinyl-only nature of that album. This new set will hopefully go some way towards reassuring friends without turntables that they haven’t been abandoned!
“Fly The Bluebird” paints pictures across a broad canvas. Twenty-four-hour news; modern warfare and terrorism; the old and the new Russia – all come under scrutiny as do Guantanamo Bay, capitalism and that old staple of folks songs, dementia. I kid you not!
And still we find time for a little love song…
“Fly The Bluebird” (Cherry Red BEAUFTB1) is available from all major download sites worldwide, including of course iTunes and the Amazons.
I hope you like it.

Some reviewers’ thoughts on the last Beau release, “Twelve Strings to the Beau”:
“Beau’s exquisite 12-string backing imbues his troubadour-style ballads with an immediacy that leaves the listener hanging on his every word … folk singer storytelling at its finest, buoyed by lyrics that rival Dylan and Cohen in their vivid imagery…”
Jeff Penczak – Shindig! Magazine“There is a sense of privilege in listening to this album … like discovering treasure in a long-sealed tomb … classic narrative songs with incredibly involving lyrics, laid over technically superb 12-string guitar…”
Dan Holland – Folkwords.com“I'm certain his name will go down in history of English folk music as one of the finest storytellers around … Twelve Strings to the Beau is as timeless as Bob Dylan classics and just as good.”
